Safe journey with Air New Zealand
In these extraordinary times, we are committed to your safety and have introduced precautionary measures throughout your journey with us. We wish to assure you that the safety and well-being of our customers and colleagues are of utmost importance to us.
1. Check-in on Air NZ app
For a contactless check-in, you may download the Air New Zealand app and complete the online check-in prior to your arrival at the airport.
Online check-in on our official website is also available 24 hours before departure.
2. Self-service check-in kiosk at the airport
For passengers checking in at the airport, we recommend using the self-service kiosk to maintain a safe social distance and avoid crowding at the counters.
3. Boarding and disembarking
To minimise your contact with other customers, please wait for the boarding announcement and instructions before queuing up to board the aircraft.
When disembarking, follow the instructions by our friendly crew and stay in your seat to wait until the passengers in front of you has taken their luggage from the overhead compartment.
4. Social distancing on board
You are encouraged to stay in your seat for the duration of the flight. If you need to move around the cabin or queue for the restroom, do follow the social distancing requirement. Please do not loiter near the galley area.
5. Sanitisation on the plane
Our jet aircrafts are fitted with hospital-grade air filtration systems that filter out viruses and all our aircrafts are thoroughly cleaned using anti-viral cleaners.
High touch surfaces onboard are disinfected and cleaned frequently.
6. Request to passengers
Face coverings and masks are no longer required on Air New Zealand operated flights, following the New Zealand Government's announcement removing mask mandates. You're still welcome to wear your own face mask, and we will continue to make masks available. Hand sanitiser is also available onboard for both crew and customers to use.
Face mask is still required when you are at the airports in Taiwan.
Please note: masks may still be required on some international flights, depending on the destination's mask requirement.
We wish to thank you for your continued support and co-operation during this period.
